Hello! I am a born and raised Montanan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Following graduate school I spent eight years working as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Lead Researcher for a small private forensic company. In this role I worked with individuals who had sustained severe traumatic injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and burns who were experiencing adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma.
I have a passion for research and education, and in addition to being the Lead Researcher for the forensic company I worked for, I also was an adjunct faculty member at Montana State University – Billings where I taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in the Rehabilitation and Human Services department. I’ve authored and published multiple articles appearing in five different peer-reviewed academic journals and have presented on the topic of ethics in counseling at multiple conferences. I held a position on the Montana chapter of Postpartum Support International’s board of directors for several years.
I left the workforce in 2018 when my son was diagnosed with autism in order to focus on learning all I could to be able to help him thrive. It was at this time I developed a deep passion for perinatal mental health as well as helping other parents of neurodivergent kids. I opened my private practice in November 2022 in order to focus on working with these populations as well as couples.
My current practice includes individuals and couples, ages teens through 60s, with a variety of mental health focuses. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, autism, ADHD, OCD, trauma, adjustment disorders, perinatal mood disorders (postpartum depression, anxiety, and OCD), pregnancy loss, infertility, grief, parenting struggles, and many more. I have experience working with couples with different neurotypes (for example one autistic partner and one neurotypical partner), working with couples through infidelity, communication issues, consensual non-monogamy, sex and intimacy concerns, transitioning to parenthood, and other relationship issues.
